Hunting the Lamb Killers || Farmer asks for help

- One of my regular clients kindly passed on my details to another farmer in need of assistance.
So tonight I'm out on a brand new property hunting lamb killers.
"Im losing lambs every night, even in the paddock right beside the house" he said.
After a quick meet n greet and a familiarisation drive around the property, it was time to get to work.
I set up 250m above the mob of sheep where the majority of the killing had been taking place and impatiently waiting for the sun to go down.
As I sat there watching the full moon slowly peek up over the horizon, the first fox of the night made an appearance.
Snaking his way cunningly through the ewes and newborn lambs, I quickly closed the distance on foot, pulled him up with an abrupt "oi" and the 55 grain projectile found its mark. A quick scan around with the thermal and bugger me, there was another one. Less than 30 minutes in and 2 on the deck.
I couldn't have hoped for a better start, especially when you're trying to impress a new client and the pressure is on to get results.
30 minutes later and another fox down then everything went quiet, time to get mobile and check out the rest of the farm.
Stealth and a full moon certainly don't go well together but sometimes you've just gotta play the hand you've been dealt.
Another 7 foxes fell victim to my .223 over the ensuing hours bringing the tally to 10 by nights end.
There's nothing better than getting that phone call the following morning from a very happy farmer that has just seen the pile of dead foxes I left for him.
For those of you interested in the gear I'm running, here it is.
HikMicro Panther PQ50L V2.0 thermal rifle scope
HikMicro Habrok 640 thermal binoculars and HikMicro Condor CQ50L monocular.
Sako 85 Stainless Hunter chambered in .223

RJM
Another great video RJM.
Glad you enjoyed it mate 👊
I'm kind of wondering but at the same time I'm coward ing I could never do this I'm sure there was a great reason for what you are doing
Foxes are an introduced pest in Australia and cause irrecoverable damage to our native wildlife, nit to mention livestock such as poultry, lambs and goats
This just never gets old Rodney !
Love ya work and thanks for ya efforts.
Cheers.
My pleasure mate, thankyou 👍
CRIKEY remind NEVER EVER go out into a Farmers Paddock for a Piss. Especially when your out and about 🤣🤣🤣

They're pretty keen on the fox whistle too. 😀

Much appreciated David. Thanks mate 👊
Bạn bắn súng hết sức tuyệt vời. Mỗi phát là một con. Bá phát bá trúng như ý 🇦🇺👍.
As always 👍🏼 And RJM is one of the few hunting, I call it pest control channels I don't get in trouble for watching if I forget to clear watched video history.
Haha. Love it.
Thanks mate 👊
Man, these videos go too quick! That overall setup you have is pretty slick. Seems like you've taken all the resistance out of the process and can focus on dispatching your targets... and enjoying spaghetti. 😁 Really nice.
Thanks mate.
Several years of trial and error to get it right and certainly a work in progress with all the new gear hitting the market.
I love your work - and videos, Rodney. Keep posting. Cheers!
Thanks mate, will do!
-3 C. Man, I wish we had -3 right now. 36 C and humid like a jungle. Ug. Can't wait for autumn. Nice work on those foxes, wonder how many lambs that will save.
You can have that. Much prefer the cold than the heat 😅
Hôm nay đi săn. Chúc bạn mạnh khỏe hạnh phúc & thành công như ý muốn 🇦🇺👋.
Great glimpses of hunting !
Cheers mate
Bloody brilliant evening overwatch 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Great video my friend from america
America? Would that be North, Central or South America?
Just playing with you!
I would assume you mean the America which is full of Mericans? The US of Merica.
Cheers from Oz,

No worries mate. Thanks for watching 👌
Still gobsmacked at the number of foxes you get. The number of lambs they must lose must be awful. Great work again mate.
Thanks Gary,
The sheep farmers have certainly got there work cut out for them mate
Freakin awesome as usual. Can’t comment on the slippers because it didn’t look like you got out of the truck much. 🤣😂🤣😂 love the vids
Cheers mate. Too cold to get out of the ute. 😁
Nice hunt
Thanks
Outstanding, that's taken some teeth off the ground.👍🇬🇧
Off to a good start for sure Paul 👌
@@RJMHuntingAustralia bet the one that was lame ( looked like a little vixen in the video) was one causing most trouble, it's usually the case here. Mind you it had plenty of back up.!!
Was chasing a cub the other night here, took 45 mins to get it close enough for a clear shot, (deep grass) wasn't paying attention to any calls so just a waiting game.
Keep up the good work mate🦊, bet the farmer was over the moon👍
Same happens here mate. Seems to be the foxes that aren't 100% that cause most of the issues.
Mange, injury, illness or old age and they hammer the livestock. Weird but I've seen it time and time again
@@RJMHuntingAustralia yes, same thing happens here. If they're not 100% fit, they go for the easiest feed they can.
I've been a gamekeeper for nearly 40yrs and i've seen it many times too..!!
Good stuff mate 👍👍
Thank you Rob 👊
Smart yep,but not smart enough to dodge a bullet 😂😂😂😂
Im still night vision scope but thermal spotter. I didn't want to shoot a blob but with a bit of experience they certainly stand out in a lambing paddock. Have got 40 now over 300 ewes all on foot. I have said it before but I have learnt a lot from your videos. I wonder if you could shoot as well if they were your lambs. My heart rate gets up still if I have a known kiler come back for the rest or seconds.
Great video m8 lots of best wishes from Glasgow Scotland. Keep up the good work
That's awesome mate. Thankyou 👊
Foxes are intelligent. One time at work we saw a fox on the road while we were on the lunch 20m away from us. We were shocked how bold the fox was. Meanwhile the electricity went out so we had to use a petrol generator and while the generator was working the fox went behind the house and ki11ed all the chickens. Later that day landlady came to feed the chickens and saw the carnage. We had no idea what happened. Smart animals the foxes are.
Well done my mate 👍 f. Uk 🤙
Thankyou mate 👊
Another great video Rod,keep them coming.
Thanks champion 👊
Fabulous nights work 💯
Cheers mate
Thanks for listing your gear specs, love seeing what your running in each video. Great videos all the best mate
No worries John 👍
Great shooting Rod. That is some seriously good bit of kit you have. Sure beats the old 17 and shotgun I had in my day out on the Nullarbor. Keep it up cobber definitely making a difference.
Thanks. We're spoilt for choice with gear nowadays mate 👍
Rodney, -2 and your out there doing your job. Well done cobber. Can't stop a good man.🤠
I've got a Casio Mudmaster watch with a thermometer in it. I got home at 7 the other morning and the water in the cat's bowl was frozen solid, which is saying something because it's a big stainless kitchen mixing bowl and it was nearly full - so about 4 litres was in it. I hang the watch on the line, go have a shower and come out at 8am and it's -6.7 on the watch. Not bad. The shower head was frozen solid too - I had to take it off, boil the kettle and warm it up before I could wash the stench of death off me before going to bed. That was in central Vic in the Castlemaine area.
last time we had so many frosts like this was 2018 and drought followed. Dunno if that's a predictor this time though.
That's ridiculous mate. I like the cold but bugger that. 😅
Cracking effort Rod, nice one 👌👏👏
Thanks champ 👊
Sweet work mate love all the tech stuff but you still need to know how to shoot. I am glad the farmers treat you well. Happy trails✌️
Cheers mate 👍
Great Vid Rod, nice shooting mate. Thanks always for the gear description at the start - much appreciated.
My pleasure mate
Great shooting Rodney 👍 and some pretty awesome gear you've got there👌🦊💥💥

Thanks Paul 👊
Brilliant video as usual ❤❤
Thanks David 👊
Great Job!
Thanks!
god I need to get a thermal....wow!🙌
Best to start off with a handheld mate.
Spectacular stuff.
Glad you enjoyed it
Great job once again Rodney, keep up the great work 🍻
Thanks mate, will do!
Love ya Work
Thanks 👊
great video Rod 👍 do you sell the pelts?
Nah. Not worth the effort. No real demand for them in Australia anymore 😪
Careful those foxes with sore feet hopping away aren’t kangaroos.
Only bushy red tails in these ones mate 😉
Hey Rod, short and sweet with everything covered. Great stuff. Mate can I ask you - do you use rechargeable batteries in the HIKMICRO or a power bank? And were you using the silva fox whistle? I'm living on farm now and foxes are very brazen here too.
I run a power bank to whatever device is on the roof.
Rechargeable 18650's that come with the devices for the scope stuff.
With reference to the whistles, a combination of squeakers, silva fox and T2 mate
@@RJMHuntingAustralia Super job legend, thanks for taking the time to help us out here in amateur land. Much appreciated.
😅 no worries mate
另一个很棒的视频,感谢罗德尼。你已经拥有了所有的玩具
Thanks mate
🙏
Love what you do man, as someone who has worked outdoor lambing I can say I am happy to see these foxes go. Just wondering why the moon is a problem for your hunts? does it mess with the lighting on your camera or does it mess with the foxes? Keep it up 💪
Thanks mate.
The only downside to a full moon is that it makes you more visible to the foxes.
Great job Rod. Love your videos mate. What brand of waterproof boots do you run? I saw you give em a plug but can’t find the vid now. Keep up the great work mate
Thanks Damian.
Bogs boots mate, pretty sure they are the Bozeman Mid.
Light, warm, waterproof and super comfortable.
They don't like barbed wire though 🤣
I've got no idea about guns, but love your Thermal footage. Looking at getting a couple of scopes but absolutely love that ThermTec Wild 650L on top of the SpyDabot Venom remote control roof mount would work wonders for my Thylacine / Thylacoleo searching here in Victoria. I'll do some research into it. However, what scope gives the best definition and battery life in your opinion (For under $15k) - I was looking at the ATN THOR 5XD 2-20X which I could leave running all night in area I think Thylas live. Your thoughts mate would be welcomed.
I had nothing but issues with the ATN gear.
With reference to the best image available on a scope right this moment. Be hard to go past the Infiray TS60 with its 1280 sensor.
@@RJMHuntingAustralia Thanks mate I'll have a look at the infiray 👍
You earned your chocky bars putting those down. You know when you're in for a good night with Paul Hogan on the butt.
Haha. Thanks mate 👊
nice work do you get paid by the fox or night rate
Hourly rate seems to work best for both parties depending on the job mate
G'day goodby
Hello, how are you, I hope you are well
All good here. Thankyou
Top job mate as always enjoyed that 👍 what grain bullets you running it the 223 please?
Cheers mate.
Running 55gr Sierra Blitz Kings
@RJMHuntingAustralia fantastic thanks mate 👍

Fox - Feece
Please kindly mention the details of the night vision scope in the message which company it belongs to and its name etc
All that information is in the video description mate 👍
👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks
Ripper fox blood bath scooby snacks in hand let it rip.
😅 thanks mate
